Hey there – good to see you.

My name is Markus, but my friends mostly call me Elk. I live in the North East - sometimes not the friendliest of largemouth fishing regions - and I spend all of my free time and spare money on our great sport. I have felt the tug, and in being a drug of such potency as those who’ve tasted it know it to be, I was sucked down the rabbit hole, the fisherman’s abyss consuming me every day.

It’s been a few years since I had my first experience of the Fisherman’s Enlightenment, and over time I have curated a restless and ceaseless addiction to the act, the gods of gear and tackle calling me ever-forth to the gaping maw of Bass Pro Shops, the siren song of a walloping blowup echoing through my mind as I try to sleep.

In my time fishing I have learned a few things, here and there. Our passion is unique in that it allows the individual to choose their own path, to draft up a battleplan day after day, to tweak and modify the specifics, and to quantify success in lipped fish and memorable days. My goal in creating this site is to bring to you, the reader, my thoughts and processes on fishing. The North East presents a particular set of challenges, the hurdling of which has become my constant pursuit. We are all entitled to our opinions on baits and reels and gear, and I assure that you'll find this one to be uniquely mine.

I implore you to remember that I am not an expert, nor have I mastered any aspect of fishing apart from spending money. What I bring to you here will be my experiences, my thoughts, my reviews and my opinions on products, techniques and all things fishing.

Thank you for visiting, I hope to see you here again soon.

Keep on fishin’.
